Lima, Peru) The Comision de Promocion del Peru para la Exportacion y el Turismo - PROMPERU and the Centre for Digital Opportunities - ADOC PERU, organized the awarding ceremony for the II ADOC AWARDS 2007, to promote the use of Information and Communication Technologies within the PYMES as an effective means to generate business and improve competitivity. In this opportunity three small and medium sized businesses have been chosen (PYME) from the sectors of natural ingredients and products, handicraft and decorative articles, as a result of applying points to the evaluating criteria which have been related to the definition and strategy of the business done by the firm as well as the functional and technical aspects of the website. The awarded firms were: - FIRST PLACE: ARGENTARIA, dedicated to the production and sales of decorative silver plated articles, worked by hand by Peruvian craftsmen as unique pieces of original and exclusive designs. - SECOND PLACE: PERUVIAN NATURE, firm with great experience in obtaining, processing and exporting ingredients and finished products, ellaborated from medicinal herbs and natural products native to Peru. - THIRD PLACE: AMAZON HERB, dedicated to exporting handicraft from the Peruvian Amazonia, especially from the Ucayali region. It is important to note that the mission of ADOC is to reduce the digital gap that still exists in countries that are members of APEC such as Chile, Peru, Phillipines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taipei and Papua Guinea. This event will take place with the presence of Luis Alonso Garcia, Viceminister of Foreign Trade, Frank Lin, Representative of the Culture and Economy Office of Taiwan and Pilar Pajares, Executive Director for PROMPERU.
